The Texas Twisted Mesquite Walking Stick is an ideal walking companion due to its combination of strength, ease-of-handling, and Texas mesquite aesthetic beauty. Mesquite is a honey-colored wood that has an attractive naturally twisting grain and can vary in darkness throughout the board. Known more for its aromatic smoke in bar-b-que circles, mesquite is actually a beautiful Texan wood that grows under a lot of stress and therefore has a lot of natural character. With our trademark twist spiraling down its shaft, this walking stick is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted hiking stick that is both sturdy and attractive, and naturally Texan.
Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking canes offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree when you look at one. Each cane is a work of art. Plus, because they are solid wood, there are no moving parts to become unstable. Brazos Walking Sticks is family operated and located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley of Central Texas. Each walking stick is handcrafted by skilled local craftsmen.
All our canes can be personalized with laser engraving, making them uniquely yours. Canes can be further customized with accessories listed above, per your choice.

To be sure, determining the right size walking stick or can be a subjective art form. What feels right for one person may feel horrible for another. However, with almost two decades of experience in making handcrafted, wooden walking sticks and canes, you can be sure that we have some opinions on the matter!
Cane sizing is best achieved by standing up nice and straight, relaxing your arm naturally to the side, and having someone measure the distance from your wrist to the floor.
Again, let me reiterate, the sizing recommendations listed above are only suggestions. For people needing step-by-step support, it’s best to consult your doctor or another medical professional about your exact sizing needs.
I am delighted with the mesquite walking stick. I wasn't sure about getting it since it is a bit expensive, but i am so glad I did. I feel good walking with it. I look forward to having it for many years to come.
Comiskey Walkingstick that I ordered was more than I had anticipated! Excellent workmanship quick delivery decent price. Thank you
Nice solid stick to be sure.
This is my second Twisted Mesquite 58" Brazos stick.
Noticed this second one is a tad lighter by a few ounces.
The first one is solid as a rock for sure.
This one is good, but I'm used to the slightly beefier first one.
I bought a pair of these beautiful staffs when they were on sale for half price, Then engraving went on sale for FREE!!! I can't say enough about how beautiful these sticks are. They have an extraordinary "swirly" grain that is gorgeous. The laser engraving compliments the rest of the stick. As I said in the first review in this section, they are "beautiful and functional".
The mesquite wood looks great, but for one of the woods listed higher/ stronger wood hardness scales, I was a bit shocked to see this one flex with weight, not even my full 260 lbs, just with one arm pushing. It's much smaller in diameter than my other walking sticks and some canes. None of my other walking sticks from here ever bowed or flexed when leaned on for support.
Very sturdy and good looking --a little heavier than cedar but easily carried
I have many Brazos staffs (13 to be exact) and this one is one of the best!!! It is stunning. Beautiful grain pattern that exceeds both the oak and walnut staffs - which is saying something!
It is rigid even when supporting my 300+ pounds. No flexing. To me, the oblong shape feels better in the hand than a round stick and is less tiring. It has a nice heft but isn't too heavy.
All in all Brazos hit a bases-loaded home run with this staff.
WMS - I need a stick!
My second walking stick from Brazos, beautiful. I am very pleased with the mesquite stick, it is a strong wood, extremely nice finish. I am sure it will last me a life time.
I was happily surprised when my new mesquite walking stick arrived here in Tyler, Tx overnight even with a stop in Mesquite, Tx.
I like the look, feel and weight and look forward to using it often.
I will be back !!
