Brazos™ Twisted Laminated Padauk Maple Exotic Walking Stick

The Laminated Hardwood Padauk Maple Walking Stick is majestic and stately. This staff boasts royal beauty that is painstakingly crafted -- a true gem for collectors, and a stout staff for ardent hikers. To create this labor-intensive jewel, our craftsmen laminate five boards together (three padauk boards and two maple boards). Each piece is then meticulously cut to shape, worked on a router and sanded to a finished perfection. Finally, each walking stick is sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer. The final product is a walking stick that's truly a functional piece of art, possessing both utility and beauty. Like all of our finely crafted walking sticks and canes, this walking stick is made in the USA by our skilled craftsmen using the highest quality wood and time-tested methods.

Made in America, One at a Time

Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking canes offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree when you look at one. Each cane is a work of art. Plus, because they are solid wood, there are no moving parts to become unstable. Brazos Walking Sticks is family operated and located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley of Central Texas. Each walking stick is handcrafted by skilled local craftsmen.

Make it Uniquely Yours

To be sure, determining the right size walking stick or can be a subjective art form. What feels right for one person may feel horrible for another. However, with almost two decades of experience in making handcrafted, wooden walking sticks and canes, you can be sure that we have some opinions on the matter!

Walking Sticks

  • For small children and shorter adults, we generally recommend a 41-inch stick.
  • For people who are shorter than 5’4″, we recommend a 48-inch stick.
  • For people who are between 5’4″ and 5’11”, we recommend a 55-inch stick.
  • For adults over 5’11”, we recommend a 58-inch stick.

Walking Canes

  • For people who are shorter than 5’4″, we recommend a our lighter 34-inch canes
  • For people who are between 5’4″ and 6’, we recommend our standard 37-inch canes as the best starting point.
  • For adults over 6’, we offer 40-inch canes.

Cane sizing is best achieved by standing up nice and straight, relaxing your arm naturally to the side, and having someone measure the distance from your wrist to the floor.

Again, let me reiterate, the sizing recommendations listed above are only suggestions. For people needing step-by-step support, it’s best to consult your doctor or another medical professional about your exact sizing needs.

    Twisted Padauk and Maple

Posted by Randy Welker on 15th Oct 2019

Just started hiking again and needed a walking stick. I am glad to have found this one. Obviously, any stick will do as long as it supports you while you're hiking, but this stick is not only well crafted and strikingly beautiful, but also very comfortable for the hand.

Twisted Laminated Hardwoods Padauk and Maple Exotic Walking Stick

Never having had a walking stick before I went with this particular one based on its looks and the materials used in its fabrication. It's very comfortable to use, it's not heavy but feels very solid and is easy to manuever out on the trail. It is worth every penny and I would recommend a Brazos walking stick to anyone who asks.

    No Other Like It

The contrasting colors of the Padauk and Maple woods call out for attention demanding to be taken on a walk. This stick is as functional as it is beautiful. Being that this is the second walking stick I've ordered from Brazos (my other is the Twisted Mesquite), I know Brazos quality and craftsmanship and certainly wasn't surprised with this stick. If you plan to buy only one walking stick, do consider this one as I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Brazos is the best!
