Brazos™ Twisted Cocobolo Hame Top Walking Cane

The Twisted Cocobolo Hame Top Walking Cane has the Central American exotic hardwood cocobolo as the shaft. Cocobolo a color range of dark to light brown with a tight grain pattern and beautiful stripes and swirls throughout its length. Coupled with a stately brass hame the Twisted Cocobolo Hame Top Walking Cane is an ideal walking companion that's both beautiful and highly functional. Due to the rareness of the exotic wood cocobolo this cane is only available in a 37 inch length. This Collectors' Cane boasts a gorgeous brass hame top handle and an exquisite twisted shaft. Each walking cane is made from the finest grade cocobolo that is carefully selected, cut, worked on a router, sanded, and sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer to magnify the wood's innate beauty. Each shaft is given our signature twist that spirals majestically down its length. The finished product is a stylish, attractive walking cane that is fit for any occasion. The brass hame is affixed to its shaft with equal care using a combination of epoxy, small nails, and screws. The finished handle is, in a word, exquisite.

To be sure, determining the right size walking stick or can be a subjective art form. What feels right for one person may feel horrible for another. However, with almost two decades of experience in making handcrafted, wooden walking sticks and canes, you can be sure that we have some opinions on the matter!

Walking Sticks

  • For small children and shorter adults, we generally recommend a 41-inch stick.
  • For people who are shorter than 5’4″, we recommend a 48-inch stick.
  • For people who are between 5’4″ and 5’11”, we recommend a 55-inch stick.
  • For adults over 5’11”, we recommend a 58-inch stick.

Walking Canes

  • For people who are shorter than 5’4″, we recommend a our lighter 34-inch canes
  • For people who are between 5’4″ and 6’, we recommend our standard 37-inch canes as the best starting point.
  • For adults over 6’, we offer 40-inch canes.

Cane sizing is best achieved by standing up nice and straight, relaxing your arm naturally to the side, and having someone measure the distance from your wrist to the floor.

Again, let me reiterate, the sizing recommendations listed above are only suggestions. For people needing step-by-step support, it’s best to consult your doctor or another medical professional about your exact sizing needs.

Cocobolo Hame topped cane and Bloodwood Hame topped cane.

Posted by Alan Yates on 17th Apr 2019

I love my canes, one is Cocobolo and the other is Bloodwood. I am unhappy with the mounting of the top to the wooden cane but the wood on both is beautiful and the Hames are solid. I enjoy them often when walking around the property.

Wood:beautiful; Hame Ball: heavy but nice

Posted by Robert J. Parks on 18th Aug 2016

The hame sits nicely on the wood, it has screws and nails which hold it snugly in place. Shout out to Mr. Jedidiah McAlister for making such a work of art out of wood. The spiral looks very unusual because it brings out different colors within the woods grain. Thank you for sizing it to me perfectly, since this was my first cane to purchase, and was a bit unsure of my measurements. The hame is heavy but not too large either, for I wear a mens large in a glove and don't have huge hands, but it feels good resting in the palm of my hand, and my fingers can easily wrap underneath to grasp and move the cane forward while walking.
