To be sure, determining the right size walking stick or can be a subjective art form. What feels right for one person may feel horrible for another. However, with almost two decades of experience in making handcrafted, wooden walking sticks and canes, you can be sure that we have some opinions on the matter!
Cane sizing is best achieved by standing up nice and straight, relaxing your arm naturally to the side, and having someone measure the distance from your wrist to the floor.
Again, let me reiterate, the sizing recommendations listed above are only suggestions. For people needing step-by-step support, it’s best to consult your doctor or another medical professional about your exact sizing needs.
Beautifully done with oak wood. One problem, I ordered red and received brown.
I was in search of a great quality walking stick for my dad. After multiple knee surgeries, a hip replacement, and natural aging, his gait has become very unbalanced. Though I knew he would never entertain the idea of a "cane" because he is so young, 82 years young, I knew I needed a solution soon to prevent further falls. Brazo walking sticks was my solution!! They were able to cut this cane to my dad's measured size, shipping was fast and the quality was great! My dad loves the idea of a walking "stick" vs. a "cane", and he absolutely loved that it had his last name monogrammed onto it..such a great personal touch!! I would highly recommend using Brazo Walking Sticks!
I have a small collection of canes/walking sticks. Some of them are OMG beautiful, some are just beautiful, but all are functional (can hold up to 300 lb).
To expand my collection I looked at Amazon, ebay, fasionablecanes.com, canecentral.com… to name a few. These are good places to look. On ebay I saw a cane made of a Snakewood for $1,200 but I am not going that far, I keep my feet on the ground. So after I’ve done my home work I found Brazos. Prices are realistic, canes are fantastic to say the least. And you can actually walk with their canes, not just look at them. Regular hard wood like Oak or Maple, exotic hard wood like Bloodwood, Zebrawood or Mesquite - they have it all. Even if you are not into collection, but just looking for a nice functional cane, don’t buy something plain and boring for $ 13.95, buy yourself a nice one for $39 or $44.
It will become part of you and you will love it.
I have owned two of these and a walking stick.
All are both beautiful and functional. Also. this walking cane continually gets complements and requests along the lines of - Where did you get THAT!
OMG!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!! It's absolutely beautiful !! It's so incredible! I LOVE IT.
