The Free Form Iron Bamboo Turned Knob Walking Cane is crafted with a bamboo shaft and a beautiful, oak turned knob. Technically a "giant grass" and not wood, this bamboo has a tremendous strength-to-weight ratio, making the Iron Bamboo Turned Knob Walking Cane simultaneously one of the lightest and strongest walking canes we carry. The perfect walking aid for anyone looking for handcrafted quality along with natural beauty. The smooth, polished wood will feel good in your hand and make you feel safer, knowing you have a strong, solid companion at your side to help keep you balanced. Natural is, well natural, with the standard clear finish, Red is stained, then finished, and black is painted and also finished.
Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking canes offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree when you look at one. Each cane is a work of art. Plus, because they are solid wood, there are no moving parts to become unstable. Brazos Walking Sticks is family operated and located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley of Central Texas. Each walking stick is handcrafted by skilled local craftsmen.
All our hiking sticks can be personalized with laser engraving, making them uniquely yours. Walking sticks and canes can be further customized with accessories listed above, per your choice.

To be sure, determining the right size walking stick or can be a subjective art form. What feels right for one person may feel horrible for another. However, with almost two decades of experience in making handcrafted, wooden walking sticks and canes, you can be sure that we have some opinions on the matter!
Cane sizing is best achieved by standing up nice and straight, relaxing your arm naturally to the side, and having someone measure the distance from your wrist to the floor.
Again, let me reiterate, the sizing recommendations listed above are only suggestions. For people needing step-by-step support, it’s best to consult your doctor or another medical professional about your exact sizing needs.
I find that this lightweight cane is heavy duty! Not only is the red finish top notch and beautiful, but the cane can handle my needs and a wonky knee. Highly recommend this stick.
Light Weight, Sturdy and great workmanship. It quickly became my favorite cane!!
As one who actually needs a cane to stay upright, I can and do tell anyone who asks that this is an example of how good something "utilitarian" can get! From knob to body to finish, all show the kind of craftsmanship that we seldom see in this day of hurry-up-I-can't-wait. If you want the best then here is where you should be looking.
This is a beautifully crafted cane, and very comfortable in the hand. The "red" finish is relatively pale -- the tiny square sample color, above, make it difficult to tell what the color is really like. Perhaps Brazos will put full images of all 3 colors on this page!
This product is top shelf. The craftsmanship is superb. I recommend it without any reservations.
