Both seasoned hikers and casual strollers will enjoy the Ash Walking Stick. Ash makes for a strong -- and relatively lightweight -- staff. When finished, the beautiful bark takes on an orange-red hue resulting in a walking aid that's both functional and attractive. Each piece of ash is meticulously chosen, prepared, cut, and sanded. Finally, each stick is sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer. (Note: this stick has a rough bark feel.) The finished staff is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted walking stick. Like all of our finely crafted walking sticks and canes, the Free Form Ash Walking Stick is made in the USA by our skilled craftsmen using the highest quality wood and time-tested methods.
Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking canes offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree when you look at one. Each cane is a work of art. Plus, because they are solid wood, there are no moving parts to become unstable. Brazos Walking Sticks is family operated and located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley of Central Texas. Each walking stick is handcrafted by skilled local craftsmen.
All our hiking sticks can be personalized with laser engraving, making them uniquely yours. Walking sticks and canes can be further customized with accessories listed above, per your choice.

To be sure, determining the right size walking stick or can be a subjective art form. What feels right for one person may feel horrible for another. However, with almost two decades of experience in making handcrafted, wooden walking sticks and canes, you can be sure that we have some opinions on the matter!
Cane sizing is best achieved by standing up nice and straight, relaxing your arm naturally to the side, and having someone measure the distance from your wrist to the floor.
Again, let me reiterate, the sizing recommendations listed above are only suggestions. For people needing step-by-step support, it’s best to consult your doctor or another medical professional about your exact sizing needs.
If you're disappointed, you're an idiot. You ordered a stick. You get a stick. Delivery was guick. Finish is good.
Received this Ash freeform walking stick a few days ago and got to test it out recently. I also have the ones made from hickory and ironwood from Brazos. The Ash stick seems lighter than they do since the wood is less dense, and although not as hard as the other two sticks, the Ash stick is still plenty hard and resilient as we know ash is traditionally used for tool handles and baseball bats. I would recommend the Ash stick to anyone who wants the perfect combination of strength and weight, who perhaps does not want to use one made of bamboo.
Nice walking stick. Appreciate the free and fast delivery. Would order from Brazos again.
