Walking Canes
Unlike plastic or metal canes, Brazos
Walking Canes have a natural appeal. Made from
solid hardwoods, they are both lightweight and strong. For
decorative canes, other woods can be selected for the handles.
The canes' handles are connected to the shaft with a traditional
mortise and tenon construction. This forms a strong joint
which is dovetailed permanently to the shaft with a wedge.
The wood handle of Brazos Canes conforms to
the shape of the hand resulting in even pressure distribution
over the whole width of the hand. It allows for a secure grip
that gives confidence to the user. Our walking canes are available
in various lengths from 34 and higher. If required, our canes
can be custom adjusted. If the cane you like is too tall,
you can cut it down to fit your height. Find
out how to size your walking cane here.

Among Our Favorite Walking
Sticks
Golden
Bamboo
For centuries, throughout the world, bamboo has been
used for a variety of purposes, particularly walking
canes. We "re-discovered" this unique plant
which is both strong and lightweight, providing the
two most desirable qualities in a walking stick. We
off these in green or tan, and like our other natural
products, we lightly sand and finish each staff with
a clear coat sealer.

Free
Form Mesquite Stick
Mesquite trees play a rich and diverse part in the
colorful history of the southwest. Considered a pest
by many ranchers and farmers, we find a ready supply
as we harvest our wood from the mesquite covered ranch
lands surrounding our work shops. Whenever possible,
we include some of the outer parts of the tree to give
the unique and distinctive features that produce a stick
of character. The result is product that is truly one
of a kind. |
Oak
Walking Stick
Our skilled craftsmen individually twist and shape
each oak walking stick from straight grained solid hardwood
to make distinctive lightweight walking sticks for walkers.
Using these hand methods, we ensure the unique character
and quality of each piece.
