If you’re looking for rugged, rustic appeal combined with exceptional strength, this is the stick for you! This best-selling walking stick has a good weight to it and will feel strong and solid in your hand. The Leather Safari Walking Stick is no ordinary walking stick. It's a fusion of rustic beauty and functional utility. To make the Leather Safari Walking Stick we take our venerable Hickory Walking Stick and accent it with a leather handle comprised of 35 layers of vegetable tanned leather sandwiched between rings of the exotic woods brass, padauk, and ebony imported from Africa or South America. Each piece of hickory is carefully chosen, cut, sanded, and sprayed with a protective, clear coat lacquer. Like all of our finely crafted walking sticks and canes, this walking stick is made in the USA by our skilled craftsmen using the highest quality wood and time-tested methods.
Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking canes offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree when you look at one. Each cane is a work of art. Plus, because they are solid wood, there are no moving parts to become unstable. Brazos Walking Sticks is family operated and located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley of Central Texas. Each walking stick is handcrafted by skilled local craftsmen.
All our hiking sticks can be personalized with laser engraving, making them uniquely yours. Walking sticks and canes can be further customized with accessories listed above, per your choice.

This walking stick is beautiful. The attention to detail is apparent. It arrived on time and was packaged well.
This is worth every penny, nice craftsmanship...Thank You
Took one look at this stick and said "wow now this is a hiking staff. There is no doubt it is a sturdy piece of wood and as Ernest said "Made for the strong arm" as it is heavy. I will be getting an arm workout and leg workout this baby.
Beautiful walking stick. The craftsmanship is amazing, like a piece of art. Perfect in every way, highly recommend!
The stick I received had a hickory shaft, but wasn't dark like in the picture. It was one that had limbs smoothed down and most all the bark taken off. Unusual, different and still visually striking, just more the pale inner color of the wood. The leather and handle seem well attached and look nice. The only thing wrong is that you cannot use the wrist strap with the cane. The leather is too short for a reach through the loop to grab the handle. That's why only 4 stars. Because now I have to go buy leather cording for it to be a few inches longer, so I don't drop it and ruin the finish.
Leather wrap good and very good tip but the stick they choose was terrible! I paid alot for this stick but very disappointed that they didn't choose a better stick at this price! I won't ever use it because im disappointed! I will just set it aside and keep walking and looking for a new awesome stick!!!
Just what I was looking for in my hiking journeys
Love the product but struggled with the website trying to order an extra rubber tip.

Packaging was heavy duty. This Safari Walking Stick is utterly beautiful, and goes beyond my expectations in quality and finish. The handle is made up of tightly stacked rings of leather, not wound, which alleviated my initial fear that, over time, it would unravel - not a chance. Its brass, padauk and ebony rings have no seams to come loose. I am 6-ft. tall, 65-years old, about 240-lbs, wiith no serious leg issues as yet, so I purchased the 58-inch version to instill a confidence and incentive to get myself out and about. It has done that. I found it very beneficial to explore the "Medical Nets" to determine the correct positioning of "my friend" when wallking and in negotiating curbs and stairs. Overall, I would characterize my Safari Walking Stick as "stout."
