Iron Bamboo -- technically "giant grass" and not wood -- has a tremendous strength-to-weight ratio making the Free Form Iron Bamboo Walking Stick simultaneously one of the lightest and strongest walking staffs we carry. Thanks to iron bamboo's thick walls, durability, ruggedness, and smooth, natural surface, the Free Form Iron Bamboo Walking Stick is an easy-to-handle, reliable staff for those looking for a long term hiking aid.
The Free Form Iron Bamboo Walking Stick is available in a natural finish that is sanded smoothly and sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer; the staff is also available in a popular red finish and an elegant black finish, each with a protective clear coat lacquer. Like all of our walking sticks and canes, the Free Form Iron Bamboo Walking Stick can be personalized with laser engraving, making the staff uniquely yours. The Free Form Iron Bamboo Walking Stick comes in one of four sizes: 41-inches (primarily a "child's size"), 48-inches, 55-inches, and 58-inches. The staff also comes with a standard rubber ferrule for a firm, secure grip on virtually any surface. Like all of our handcrafted products, the Free Form Iron Bamboo Walking Stick is made in the USA by our skilled craftsmen using the highest quality materials and time-tested methods.

Purchased this walking stick for my wife who has neck and shoulder injuries. Wonderfully light and strong. Great looking wood (red). Beautiful custom engraving. Will definitely purchase from Brazos again!

I received my iron bamboo walking stick within a week. Nicely packaged and ready to go. A beautiful product that meets and surpasses my expectations.

A superior product, light and very strong. I rub the top third of my stick with bees wax for an even more secure grip. I don't think there is a better tool for long hikes in rough terrain.

I have MS, and purchase this for use as a mobility aid, after my neurologist suggested I try a walking stick or staff of some kind. It work so much better than the cane I'd been using! No more futzing around trying to get the height just right, no more trying not to drop the cane when I need to use both hands, and it look much cooler, too!
I've already recommended it to several people I know who asked about it, and I like the light weight of the bamboo.
I did take off one star because the black finish was visibly scratched less than 24 hours after I started using it, just from taking it in and out of the car and other normal use.. Not a huge deal, and doesn't affect functionality at all, but a little disappointing. Someone using it in the wilderness would probably get more scratches faster.

This walking stick is amazing! It's very light but it's as strong as a piece steel, you can feel the strength by just holding it.

After reading all the reviews on all the free form sticks I decided to go with the Iron Bamboo. I'm so glad I did. It's very stout and light and fits my hand perfectly. Will be trying it out this summer climbing Mt. Shasta in Northern Calif. I'm thinking about picking up the Iron Wood free form for a spare.
Thanks Brazos Walking Sticks.

This is the best walking stick and sets the example of what a walking stick should be like. I tried it walking up a slick grassy hill and the strength, comfort and lightness made it walking up that hill a breeze. I got the brown one and my wife wants the black stick. I recommend this to anyone who wants a very good walking stick.
