With its distinct, reddish bark, and its stunning, majestic twist, the Twisted Sassafras Walking Stick is easily one of our more sought-after hiking staffs -- a prized possession for ardent hikers and collectors alike.
Each piece of sassafras is meticulously chosen, prepared, cut, and sanded, giving it our distinctive twist. Finally, each stick is sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer -- the result is a smooth finish that magnifies the wood's innate beauty. The finished staff is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted walking stick that is both sturdy and attractive.
The Twisted Sassafras Walking Stick comes in one of four sizes: 41-inches (primarily a child's size"), 48-inches, 55-inches, and 58-inches. The staff also comes with a standard rubber ferrule for a firm, secure grip on virtually any surface. For serious hiking, the rubber ferrule can also be upgraded to a spike ferrule or combination spike ferrule per your choice.
Like all of our finely crafted walking sticks and canes, the Twisted Sassafras Walking Stick is made in the USA by our skilled craftsmen using the highest quality wood and time-tested methods.

Just bought this walking stick for my dad for his 65th birthday. He loves it! We had it engraved, had a whistle added to the handle, and got him the spike tip for walking in the woods. It is a gorgeous walking stick. I am very pleased with this company and I will recommend it to everyone I know.

Very nice craftsmanship with attention to detail. Design and finish will get you noticed almost anywhere. Item arrived very well packed against damage in shipping. If you have been looking at these I can honestly say you can buy with complete confidence that you will be getting a top quality product very quickly. Thanks Brazos!!

I just wanted to tell you how much I love my Brazos walking stick! I purchased the 50" Twisted Sassafras, and LOVE it. It has not only met, but exceeded my expectations, and has had the unexpected additional benefit of helping to strengthen my arm. I get more compliments on it than I would have thought. When I bought it, I loved the look, but my primary concern was having a stick/staff that I could count on being strong and sturdy, to help me up and down stairs, hills and rough terrain, and to occasionally give me leverage, as I work to stand up.
The one thing I regret is not having the budget at the time, to add a few tweaks to it - like the compass and thermometer. And, with winter coming, I have a feeling that the spiked tip would have come in VERY handy, on the ice and snow, where I've had so many falls and near-misses.
I am now wondering if those things might be retro-fitted? I don't want to (and with my physical limitations, really can't) be without my stick now, so I was wondering if I might simply purchase the accessories from you, and have a wood-worker friend of mine fit them on for me (while I wait)? I am still not in a position to afford another stick, with all of the fittings, so (though, ultimately, I want to) that isn't currently an option, for me I want to assure you that I love my stick, and have given the link to your site to quite a few of my friends with similar physical issues to mine - and will continue to do so, whether these additions are possible or not.
