We carry a wide variety of handmade walking sticks. Each of our walking sticks is individually crafted from the finest woods including sassafras, hickory, sweet gum, iron bamboo, and many other exotic and native trees. Each walking stick is handcrafted by our artisan craftsmen in Central Texas not far from the Brazos River. Most of our custom walking stick blanks are naturally harvested in the nearby woods of Arkansas, East Texas, western Louisiana, and the high mountain deserts of New Mexico. Before each custom stick is created, the raw wood blank is carefully inspected for hidden flaws that might affect the structural integrity of the custom wooden walking shaft. Only the raw blanks that show the highest strength are chosen for use in our walking sticks. After the structural inspection, the raw wood blank is shaped on a lathe or a sander depending on the style of the stick. Most of our walking sticks have handles shaped directly from the wood blank; others -- such as our Sheperd's Crook -- are slowly bent to take on a distinctive crook shape. Once shaped and sanded the custom stick is ready for the finish. Depending on the style of stick, a clear or tinted finish is applied. The resulting finish highlights the natural beauty of the wood. Our walking sticks come in various sizes that will fit young children to tall adults. Serious hikers can add a compass to their hiking stick, a spike ferrule, a combination spike, or the classy Lee Valley Spike system. We're sure that you will enjoy our hiking sticks and trekking poles for many years, Made in the USA. Please feel free to email inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
